Bellamys Honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals

The Association of Fundraising Professionals Northwest Indiana Chapter celebrated National Philanthropy Day®, November 17, 2016, by honoring outstanding individuals, businesses, service clubs and foundations in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties. Honorees Cal and Cathy Bellamy, Philanthropist Couple of the Year, helped to establish several influential nonprofit agencies in Northwest Indiana, including: the Hammond Education Foundation, the Legacy Foundation and the Catholic Charities Foundation. The Bellamys are loyal supporters of St. Jude House in Crown Point, Indiana.

The Bellamys were nominated by Lakeshore Public Media and introduced to the gathering by James Muhammad, CEO of Lakeshore Public Media. Karen Antink, Attorney at Law and chair of the St. Jude House Development Board and Val Lay, Director of Development, St. Jude House attended the event to thank the Bellamys and help celebrate this significant honor. Currently, St. Jude House and Lakeshore Public Media are partnering to develop a series of videos on the topic of financial empowerment for survivors of domestic violence. The project is funded by The Allstate Foundation.
